It looks like 50 Cent may be giving up his solo rap career. 50 stated that if Kanye West sold more albums then him that he would never release another solo album.
Well, Kanye West’s “Graduation” out sold 50 Cent’s “Curtis” in week one. According to Nielsen SoundScan the final score was: 957,000 copies to 691,000 copies.
Will 50 Cent really retire? No, he is not that stupid. Whether he lost or not, selling close to 700,000 albums in your opening week is a pretty good week, especially in these times of declining music sales.

However, 50 does have something to fall back on. I don’t recall him saying that the contest was for US album sales. See, it turns out the 50 Cent actually outsold Kanye West in the Europe.
50 hit #1 on the Europe Charts will Kanyeze came in at #3. Although Kanye did beat 50 in the UK charts also.
My personal opinion? I find Kanye’s album to be better and much more innovative. However, my favorite song off of both albums has to be 50 Cent’s “I Get Money”. That song is real street talk right there.

Common took the top spot in the latest Billboard charts with his new album “Finding Forever”. Common sold 155,000 copies in its opening week, with his 7th album and first #1 spot. The album features production from Kanye West and has guest spots from West and D’Angelo.
Sean Kingston’s debut album took the #6 spot by selling 74,000 albums in it’s first week. The album is riding the success of the popular single “Beautiful Girls”.
Keith Murray new album “Rap-Murr-Phobia” took the #52 spot on the chart selling 13,000 copies in its first week. Murray’s album features guest spots from Method Man, Redman and Tyrese.

For anyone that is a fan of the “Rob & Big” MTV reality show you are sure to have seen the episode when Rob Dyrdek gets featured in a Wall Street Journal article on the front page.
Rob was upset because he was referred to as a “C” List celebrity after trying to sell his old Benz on eBay.
The article stats…
“Rob Dyrdek, a 32-year-old professional skateboarder and MTV reality-show star, got a recent reminder of how low he is on the celebrity totem pole.
Last month Mr. Dyrdek, who stars in the show “Rob and Big,” gave a friend permission to use his name to peddle Mr. Dyrdek’s old car, a 2000 Mercedes-Benz CL500, on eBay. The highest bid: $29,600, nearly $9,000 below the Kelley Blue Book value. “I ain’t Brad Pitt, and this ain’t Donald Trump’s CL,” Mr. Dyrdek concedes. His friend, who now owns the car, plans to relist it in the next few weeks.”
Rob also then takes some gruff from his mom who refers to him as a “loser”.
This was probably one of the funniest scenes from this years season, right behind the Bobby Light “Dirty Girl” music video episode.
